Seattle police arrested a 45-year-old carjacking suspect after a pursuit and crash Wednesday morning along the Seattle coast.
Police spokesman Patrick Michaud said the stolen truck was taken at 7:45 a.m. at gunpoint by a driver on the 300 block of Northwest 85th Street in Ballard
Police said officers immediately swarmed the area, saw the truck drive away and followed it across Pioneer Square and back along the waterfront.
Police said officers were attempting a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver as the truck approached Broad Street. The driver of the stolen truck then crashed, jumped out, and fled on foot.
He was arrested a short distance away, police said.
Officials have arrested a suspect of carjacking on Alaskan Way W / Broad St. after stealing a truck with a shotgun. Avoid the area if possible. Further information, if available
