Game show superstar Ken Jennings shares some of his favorite North Seattle places - Welcome To My Neighborhood

The man who knows something about everything makes a secret stop for a hot cup without coffee.

SEATTLE – This North Seattle Game Show Network podcast host, writer, and star first rose to fame with the game show’s longest winning streak in history, Jeopardy.

Let’s take a look at some of his favorite eateries near his home in North Seattle. First stop: one of his favorite knowledge stores, Scarecrow Video.

“This is the largest video store of its kind in America right now,” he says. “Still survives.”

Scarecrow is home to more than 117,000 titles on video, DVD and even LaserDisc.

This trivia master knows something about almost every one of them, even American Pie.

“Eugene Levy is in all 8 of them. He’s the only one.”

Next, we’ll make a quick visit to one of Seattle’s undiscovered treasures.

As the name suggests, Maple Leaf Reservoir Park is the scenic spot recently built on top of a 60 million gallon reservoir.

“I think we’re about 450 feet up here.”

The facts keep coming.

“People don’t realize it, but Maple Leaf is the same size as Queen Anne. This is one of the three highest points in the city of Seattle.”

The Chocolati Cafe on Greenwood Avenue is our final destination.

“You have these amazing truffles.”

This is the place where a non-coffee drinker like Ken has a delicious hot beverage, including hot chocolate in every imaginable taste, even peanut butter.

“My kids all like the flavors,” he says.

Share a mug with this guy and you will learn something.

“Napoleon wasn’t really little,” Jennings says at one point. He then sprinkles his conversation with facts about fulgurites, Charlton Heston and kangaroos. Did you know that the springy marsupials do not only live in Australia?

“There are some in New Guinea too.”

Answer: Fantastically funny, super smart guy who really loves his North Seattle neighborhood.
