RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks have put rookie linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis on the injured reserve and challenged defender Loucheiz Purifoy in Indianapolis waivers.
Seattle made the squad trains Friday. Coach Pete Carroll had indicated earlier this week that Pierre-Louis, who had dealt with a shoulder injury, could see a squad change. Pierre-Louis had appeared in five games that season and had been given more playing time in temporary situations.
Purifoy was released by the Colts Thursday after appearing in 11 games that season. The rookie was pulled out of Florida, partly because of problems off the field. Purifoy was arrested for marijuana possession offenses in February 2013, but the charges were later dropped by prosecutors. He did not plead a marijuana possession charge in Florida earlier this month.
