This week the Seattle area has been blessed with not one but THREE new specialty drink and banh mi sandwich locations, and longtime vegetarian staple Cafe Flora is ready to open its new bakery, The Flora Bakehouse, on Beacon Hill this Saturday open. Plus, a new Detroit-style pizza parlor is coming to West Seattle with Filipinx-inspired cakes and a hundred-year-old sourdough starter, and popular meaty sandwich shop Martino’s is back in business. The Boss Tea and Banh Mi Deluxe
This new Bubble Tea and Banh Mi Spot opened earlier this month at the Rainier Restaurant and BBQ Vietnamese restaurant (which is still open for takeout and delivery) on Beacon Hill. The drinks menu offers an extensive selection of drinks including “Hurricane Matcha” (a swirling drink), tiramisu and brown sugar latte, butterfly pea blossom drinks, Vietnamese coffee, watermelon jasmine tea and much more. Toppings include tapioca pearls, cheese foam, egg pudding, aloe vera, lychee jelly, and even oreo cookies. On the banh-mi side, there is banh-mi, filled with crispy fried pork belly, grilled pork, Cantonese barbecue pork, grilled lemongrass chicken, Vietnamese meatballs, beef bulgogi, lemongrass tofu, and more, with the option of Create your own sandwich.
