It is a special delivery that the West Seattle Food Bank welcomes every holiday season, and it happened today despite the pandemic. Employee at West Seattle Nucor Steel mill donate food and cash. Today was delivery day.
This year’s food donations totaled 4,380 pounds – more than two tons!
US Army National Guard Members Nicholas Delvaux and Shelina Lal helped Food Bank and Nucor employees unload.
Nucor employees donated more than $ 22,000 in cash this year.
PS Nucor thank you Tacoma Hydraulics for his help in transporting the donations every year:

The WSFB has more needs this season than ever, not just because of the pandemic but because it merged with the earlier this year West Seattle HelplineThis means that homelessness and hunger are prevented. You can also help – here’s how. (If you’d like to donate non-perishable food, a local student is sponsoring a drive-through food ride this Saturday – details in our calendar listing.)
